Dear Angelina,
I am a mother of an autistic son and have been following your posts. I am not a doctor or in the health profession but from what I know about autism it sounds as if your son probably has that, if I'm not mistaken I think some experts say swelling of the brain can cause autism. There are all kinds of theories on how autism comes about but nobody knows for sure. Some say allergies some say form immunizations some say infections in utero and some even say high fevers. It is overwhelming to try to get people to listen to these strange behaviors our children have. When I suspected Autism I had to ask my doctor for a doctor who can help start the diagnosis of Autism. My son first saw a Developmental Peditrician, then a nuerologist, then a speech pathologist who specialized in developmental disorders. He also had a hearing test and a fragile X test. It has been an exhausting road but now my son is having the right treatment and has improved greatly. My son like yours has no allergies and no seizures he also does not have hyper/hypo sensitivities but he has all the other characteristics your son has. It your childs doctor is not helping try to consult another doctor that will listen. The sooner you get help the better off your son will be. Good luck!
Dear Kim,
My son had hydrocephalic when he is born, but he had none now.  Will that affect his developmental condition?  Can you tell me what will that be called? So I can get more information on this issue.  I had being going from one disability to another and you will be doing a me a big favour by telling me the name of the 'illness'. If possible, is there any web sites related to this development delay caused by early sympthom of untreated hydrocephalic?  I can't afford to miss anything regarding my boy's condition.
Thanks alot.

Best Regards,

Angelina Thio
Marie,
Do Autistic childeren have large heads as discribed? I'm just a reader here and I know very little about Autisim but for some reason I find it interesting. The thing about her post that sent up a flag for me was the part about the large head. This sounds to me like her son maybe hydrcephalic. Left untreated it seems to me this could fit many of the symtoms (symptoms) she discirbed
