Hi, I have written you before with a back problem ( Is there hope ) by Lisa Nelson and now have been diagnaosed with TMJ disorder. I wanted to know since I have vertibrae and disk problems in lumbar area, and jaw disorder if they could be related. Is it possible I have joint problems? Do you know if it could be caused by Prednisone which I take for my asthma.  Usual dosage is 20mg per day for 1 week then 10mg for one week. Is there something I can do to strengthen my joints if they are prone to problems?? The TMJ is not as bad as it was 2 weeks ago. I can chew now. I am trying to find ways to prevent other problems happenning in my joints if possible. I can't help but feel that Prednisone is ruining my body. I am 36, so I will be needing my joints for awhile longer. Got any suggestions?
Also this is not relatedd but can methodone cause neoropothy problems?   Thanks again for your service and Happy Holidays! Lisa

There is no established relationship between disc disease and TMJ
problems, the anoatomy of the problem and the underlying causes
are totally different in each case.
Prednisone does affect the body if taken for a long time at high
doses but it does not cause joint problems, it is generally
responsible for bone problems withg secondary joint problems in later life,
but it would not cause either of your current problems.
