I have a friend who is having problems walking.  She had a myelogram and Cat scan and it said there was flattening of the spinal cord from T3-4 to T6-7.  What does that mean?  Is that why she is having problems walking?  Will it probably get worse?  Thank You.

Dear Lisa:
Flattening of the spinal cord is a non specific term. If the walking problems are due to spinal cord pathology, the CT myelogram would show compression of the cord.
I would suggest that your friend go through the results with a Neurologist.
Many other causes may be associated with walking problems.
If your friend deisres to get a second opinion at the Cleveland Clinic, he/she may call 1 800 CCF CARE.
Good luck
