I took the diet drug REDUX and I am suffering some terrible side effects that I am sure are related to this drug. I took the stuff for 14 straight months and the last 6mths. I took a double dose as ordered by my Dr. Now I believe I'm paying the price.  I have the heart valve problem but it is so far a mild case although 2 echo-carsiagrams 10 mths. apart showed changes for the worse. The biggest problem is in the brain. I have serious sleep problems and mood changes. I have a serious body temperature problem. My short term memory is gone. I went to town the other day and got lost in a town I have lived in for 28yrs. I had to call my daughter to come get me and take me home. I am only 48 yrs.old. My blood presure is out of control and the Dr. says he has tried every drug and drug combination he can think of and nothing has worked it continues to be out of control. I fear a heart attack and so does the Dr. My vision is affected my attention span is about 5 seconds now. All of this started shortly after I started Redux. Some one suggested Seratonin may be the problem. Is there any way to replace Seratonin in the brain? I know that there must be a lot of people out there suffering the same symptoms. Is there any help for us? Will this get worse? It seems to be progressing in my case. I'm sorry this is so long.Thank you Janice Morris

I think that the first thing you need is a idagnosis before jumping to
conclusions about the cause of your problems.
This might be related to the drug but it could be also due to more
commonly described problems like thyroid disease.
There is no point in trying to manipulate serotonin with out proof that
there is actually a pronblem in this area.
