I'm wondering if a rotator cuff injury might cause, in addition to mild upper arm to lower shoulder soreness when I'm active during the day, nocturnal muscle cramps, which awaken me.  I was diagnosed with a rotator cuff problem years ago and this pain is similar, however, I never had the pain during the night.  This has occurred most nights for the past 7 weeks.  I have no noticeable weakness.  (The muscle cramps disappear after I move and massage my arm for a minute or two.)  Two friends have suggested that this may be related to a pinched nerve in my neck, but I experience no numbness or pins and needles.  An opinion would be appreciated.
