I took prednisone for 10 days for a skin problem and now I have a fake hip and it has traveled to the right hip. Pray to god, I don't need a right hip
replacement too.  I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.  I took the steroids in October of 93.  My hip didn't start bothering me until July of 94, but once it did I had total femoral head collapse in 2 months.
I also have M.S., but I don't do medication..I do alternative medicine...Acupuncture, Massage , herbs and supplements.
I just wish doctors would warn people of the possible dangers in taking steroids.

Dear Tracy,
I am glad that alternative therapy is working for you, remeber that now we have new disease modifying therapy for MS
that decreases the potential for eventual disability from MS.  These medications have rigorous
trials and research that goes into finding their side effects and I agree that doctors should tell you about the potential
for side effects from the medications.  The reason that I am telling you this is that recent data has demonstrated that MS brains are
undergoing constant changes of plaques coming and going which leads to axonal damage(nerve damage).  I believe that patients should be educated and then the decision for he course of therapy or no therapy is in your court.
Good Luck!
