i have had an mri done and the results are  this:
L3-4  minimal facet hypertrophy
L4-5 mild bilateral facet hypertrophy
L5-S1 a tiny central disc herniation indents the anterior central aspect of the thecal sac, mild bilateral facet hypertrophy is present.
Impression:  tiny central disc herniation at L5-S1 with no evidence of central canal or neuroforaminal.
I am having bad lower back pains and my left hip aches very deep ans its a heavy ache, the left foot burns ana when something cold touches the left side it feels like fire.  sometimes when i lay down at night my legs feel like when u stick your tongue on a nine volt battery and then my feet start twiching and then they stop and it begin all over again it drives me nuts.  my hip and leg is all way aching.  the doc said there is nothing wrong with me.  Am i making this pain happen?
i also have a hard time going to the bathroom, i really have to go but when i try it just trickles out and i`m back again in a half hour, lower back is very sore when i bend over or walk up and down stairs, and when i sit down and try to get back up it is very painful, i have to bend slowly back up to walk. also left hip hurts very much after walking or standing, same with my lower back. I trip alot after walking also, its like my left foot is too tired to work anymore.

Penny,
How long have you had this problem? This sounds similar to some of the things that have happened to me, I fell a lot too, starting in 92, then episodes periodically throughout the years, to end up with the tingling, pins and needles, itching, spasms, twitching, numbness, etc.  I would go to another neurologist and have them do tests like an emg and whatever they may suggest to test for nerve damage, all of my mri's state no nerve compression, yet I am loosing feeling, reflexes etc.  My emg was abnormal.  I don't think that it is in your head, sometimes doctors just don't listen due to the fact of their patient load or sadly to say they just don't care.
i wish you luck
