: Can you tell me the possible side effects of gamma knife surgery for pituitary adenoma and the percentage of patients who experience these side effects?

Thanks for your interest in Gamma Knife. We are using this tech for pituitary tumors but on a selected basis.
It is a difficult question to answer without knowing more about your case and the adenoma itself. Optic nerve injury is a risk
specifically the chiasm and we would need to see the scans to determine. The major SE is some degree of
pan hypopit. The risk of this is lower with surgery since the gland and tumor are visualized and careful
dissection can be done usually. If you would like a consultation at the Cleveland Clinic you could call
216 444 5670 and schedule an appointment with Dr. Miller. Good luck
