Hello, Ivo,
In general, glioblastoma multiforme is catagorized under malignant astrocytoma which reprensent most primary brain tumors. They can occur anywhere in the neuraxis and affect both sides of brain.  A duration of symptoms greater than 6 months, the presence of seizures, and a high postoperative performance status correlate with a better prognosis.  Young age and good functional performance status suggest a better outcome.      The treatment modelities include radiotherapy aiming at increasing mean survival, and chemotherapy showing some benefit in young and good performance status patients. The newer treatment options that are coming out including immunotherapy such as interleukins and interferons with beta-interferon appearing most promising, and genetic modification as the future approach.
