Since April I have been experiencing shooting, stabbing like pains in my head..right side at the back of my skull.  Any movement such as standing up, sleeping on my side, lifting an object in a certain way would trigger these weird pains.  A CAT scan and neck xray came back clear.  Now, 8 months later, the pain is still there but different...it seems to be more intense. The head pains feel more like sharp muscle spasams that are triggered by turning my head in a certain direction, lifting a window, or even going to the bathroom. When these pains start, they usually last a few hours and my right ear seems to be involved with the pain now!  Heat and Duradrin seem to help but I find myself having to do this at least 3-4 times a week. My doctor is going to send me to another neurologist soon (right now he has me on Prednisone & Skelaxin, but am getting no relief). I don't know if I should be looking at these pains as migraines, muscle problems, nerve disorder or what.  Is there any advise you could give me as to what my next step sould be in solving this problem? Thank you so much!
