Hi, I have MG. I had a thymectomy in May.  My question is what causes the
insision to keloid?  My whole scar is raised and I was told it is keloids.
My surgeon did not mention this when I saw her 6 weeks after surgery.  It is still very
is still very sensitive to the touch and quite itchy.  What can be done for this??
this?
Thank you for your consideration.

There are products available on the market, w/out a prescripiton, to treat
keloids. I can't remember the names of them right off the top of my head,
but most of them are a medical-grade silicone sheeting that is placed over
the keloid, for a number of hrs a day, held in place either w/ tape or a
sort of netting. This technique apparently comes from treatments used on
burn victims to help skin grafts heal properly.
I know one of the companies has a website, as I looked it up long ago (I
have severe scarring on my face from cystic acne). Perhaps if you do a
search on "keloids" or "scar management" on one of the search engines, it'll
turn up!!
Good luck! :^)
