Does anyone have any information about any aspects of this rare disease, prognosis, debilitation ect. ? Thank you in advance for any help !
Dear Will,
Mononeuritis Multiplex  refers to a group of disorders that affect either one or several individual peripheral nerves by a disease process.  The diagnosis rests on the finding of motor, reflex, or sensory changes confined to the territory of a single nerve or several individual nerves affected in a random manner.  There are several etiologies for this disorder including vasculitis, sarcoid, diabetes, Lyme, Leprosy.  The prognosis/treatment depends on the etiology.
Thank you for the information! In follow up, what parameters distingush one eitiology from the others? We do have alot of lyme disease up here in god's country !! And are thier any general prognoses you could  share? The patient for whom I speak is suffering from significant spasticy and bilateral UE muscle atrophy now. I am trying to assist her in obtaining SSDI benifits but I have found very very little in the way of evidence/hard data to present to the Administrative Law Judge on this disease. Thank you again for your help!
