Hi Carolyn:
This is just my opinion, but I think that you may have Peripheral Neuropathy. Has your Neurologist suggested this to you? There is a very good site called the Neuropathy Association, mostly dealing with Peripheral Neuropathy. It is much the same as this site. There are no doctors, but just members who talk about the symptoms. From what you describe,it is the same as we PN'ers have. The drug we are all using is Neurontin, and it has helped very much. Peripheral Neuropathy is where the ends of the nerves get damaged, and it happens to the hands & feet. There are many causes of this, and alot of tests have to be preformed, unfortunately. With PN, it is definetly worse when laying down & at night. Sometimes the EMG's do not show anything, because you can have small fiber neuropathy, and it does not show on the test. This is the site: www.novatech.net:8080/~neuropathy. Good luck!
