We really could use some advice. He had a neurology test fone but I don't think it came up with anything. We are at the end of our ropes on what to do next. A certain medicine seems to help but they day he can't take very much of it. So please help us.

Your husband's leg weakness can result from a long list of neurological causes, and any combination of those. With the information available, it is impossible for me to even hazard a rough guess. His problem, however, worries me. I strongly recommend that he see a neurologist in an academic neurology department near you for an accurate diagnosis. Some of the conditions causing leg weakness can be effectively treated with surgery or medication. Even if the problem does not have an effective treatment, he would certainly benefit from measures such as physical therapy with appropriate aids.
