Hi there. There are certain surgical risks associated with the surgery like nerve injuries in forearm or elbow, bleeding, infection, stroke, paralysis, anesthesia related risks like blood clots in legs and adverse reactions to anesthetic etc. certain post operative care needs to be taken like no heavy lifting until the nerve heals, numbness may persist for long or indefinitely. Avoid athletic activities, wear your sling, avoid lifting heavy weights, squeeze a foam cushion, etc other instructions as advised by your surgeon. It takes about 6-18 months for a nerve to heal, and you may experience numbness, tingling, fleeting pain or creepy crawly sensations. Have patience and take care.
