Reduced white brain matter

Reduced white brain matter

I am 43 and was diagnosed with arthrogryposis at birth and questionable osteogenesis imperfecta as I seem to have grown out of the fractures.  Last year I had a sudden onset of severe headaches with blackouts, memory problems, tingling in my left arm, intermittent chest pain.  I have mitral valve prolapse and aortic regurgitation from taking phen fen to lose weight over 10 years ago. The phen fen did not work.  I had gastric bypass 10 yrs ago and lost about 140 lbs. I have had no complications.  I had a complete work up for these new complaints, including spinal tap, mri, echo, laps, chest x-ray, etc... My neurologist said that the mri was abnormal and showed nerve fiber damage. He treated me with medication for the headaches and ran more tests and ruled out MS amd lime disease.  He was very casual, did not explain tests to me and did not seem concerned.  I switched neurologists.  She obtained the report and is waiting for the actual mri.  She said it shows "reduced white brain matter" is this the same as nerve fiber damage" Could this be related to the arthrogryposis? I have had about 10 concussions as a child.  Last year I also had a short period of bladder control that went away with medication.  I take toporol, topamax with lexapro for the migraines, duragesic patches, synthroid and protonix for acid reflux. NYU has a program for patients with Arthrogryposis, including neurology, I am wondering if I should go to New York if this could be part of it. (I am in LA) I am a single mother to a 3 year old that I adopted and I am terrified
