Relationship of lyme disease and cervial and lunbar discs

by MRDUCKS, Nov 16, 2003 12:00AM
I was misdiagnosed while having a bullseye rash,it took two year's to finally get treatment,my test's alway's came back false negitive.I have had problem's with my cervical and lunbar spine, about seven month's ago I had to undergo a cervial fusion.I'm now scheduled for a lunbar decompression and fusion.
I guess my main question is there any coralation between my spinal problem's and lyme disease? My doctor has told me that he can't begin to count the people who come to him who have lyme.My doctor of course is an orthopaedic spinal & arthroscopic surgeon.

I will antisipate your responce.

Sincerly,
Mrducks

Lyme disease does not result in disc bulges or boney destruction. It can cause inflammation of spinal cord or nerves. I hope this answers your question.
