Reoccurring Meningitis

Posted By Jeff Dale on December 15, 1998 at 17:43:18:

Since march of this year I have had sever headaches, some time in july my wife insisted I seek medical help.
I have been placed in the local hospital 3 times since then and have even been sent to Emory University for tests. The doctors at Emory could not really find anything. All that could be determined was that the cell count was higher before a sever headache came on, ranging from the 400's down to around 40.. If the spinal count was done a few days after the sever headaches the ceel count would be low or normal,if done before a sever headache it would be high or elevated. All together I have around 10 spinal taps in the last 3 months(most in a 2 week period)I have had numerous MRI's done as well......My doctor said that I had meningo- encyphilitis after my first hospitalization, on my 2nd. hospitalization the doctors said I had Aseptic meningitis, but later said it was Lymphatic meningitis.....I would like to know what I have?????
My doctor has been treating the pain lately, but has not decided that I was improving and has cut my medication down or out in some cases,Yet the headaches have not reduced in any way. These sever headaches may not come for weeks but when they do I am unable to function at all,the best I can hope for when I get one of these headaches is just to be able to open my eyes. When I was in Emory hospital during 1 of these sever headaches they gave me a nurse call button that acted on the movement of my hand, for I could not move or respond to anything.By putting that nurse call button under my hand if I moved my hand it would call the nurse,at that time they would come in and give me morphine for pain, since I could not even push my own buton....
When I left Emory they would give me a diagnosis, they said they did not know what it was that I had and should follow up they my doctor here. However my doctor here will not listen to me and I feel that he doesnt know how to treat my problem ,so he hides. He will not even refere me to a cronic (chronic) pain specialist ...

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME???????????????????
