Replacement of a crainial plate

by beckatron, Oct 12, 2009 04:18AM
I had an injury when I was a baby, and had a crainial plate put in, for 34 years I was fine, then last year I got an infection, was hospitalized and in the end had the plate removed and a new one was made and put in. My new plate is titanium. I have had this plate in for about 4 months and an infection has come back, I saw my nuerosurgeon last week and she said that this plate would have to come outm be resterilized and then put back in. Does anyone have info for me?? Like will I constantly have problems like this, etc.. Any help would be appreciated.
