Resless Body Syndrome

Since my Mitral valve repair about 3 years ago, I have experienced strange sleep issues. At night I go to  sleep quickly, but wake up within an hour. Then the back of my body has some sort of sensation (from legs to neck). In order to stop the sensations, I get out of bed and walk around the house for about an hour. Some times this works, but other times another 'cycle' starts. The worst night has been three cycles.

All of my searching for answers seems to point to potential nerve damage. Is it possible that having had polio at 10 (I'm 77 now) could be the culprit. I recovered with no major problems and do not have noticeable post polio symptoms.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
