SEVERE SPINAL STENOSIS LUMBAR

SEVERE SPINAL STENOSIS LUMBAR

Hi I was in a car accident and this is why after 1 and a half years I still have not been treated. I have 2 question.
1, Severe Spinal Stenosis caused by a disk out of place along with central herniation along with forminal stenosis.
All my lumbar disks are herniated and 1st sacral but the one that is out of place is almost completely blocking my spinal canal. I have seen 2 Neurologist 2 Neurosurgeons and many general practicioners all have discharged me and the 2 Neurologists and 1 Neurosurgeon actually said that there is nothing surgical that can be done! What they didn't know that all I have is time and after over a year not only do I know what everything is in spine but pretty darn good reader of MRI'S Lumbar only so knowing by me looking at MRI'S  that I have severe spinal stenosis at multiple levels. I actually had to go 6 hours to a Neurosurgeon that look at my old MRI'S for about 30 seconds and could not believe that nobody has done nothing. He told me what I already knew and more and told me I need major surgery decompression and fusion of disks to start. Then I go back to update my tests for surgery and I could not find anyone to drive me and this about killed me, now I know that the right thing to do is not do the surgery because of living so far and don't have a guarateed ride this he didn't know before. The thing that I don't understand is it seemed like all of a sudden I didn't really need surgery, but I was disoriented and could have mistaken what he said. He told me now after I had the new MRI'S there are new issues and what I really need is a Orthopedic surgeon? What happened to the Lumbar Severe Spinal Stenosis DOES IT JUST OPEN BACK UP ALL BY IT SELF. I JUST DON'T HAVE MY SPINAL CANAL CLOSING UP FROM OLD AGE BUT FROM A CAR ACCIDENT. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I HAVE SUCH GREAT HEALING POWERS THAT MY SPINAL CANAL JUST OPENED BACK UP? ALSO BECAUSE OF THE SEVERE IMPACT I TOOK MY DISKS ALSO NEED TO BE FUSED. This is a good Doctor I trust him, but he doesn't have the time to explain all that is going on and I figure I would just ask if it is possible for your spinal canal open back up by it self. Its a stupid question but it could have been that nothing has changed with stenosis issue but that it would have been not resondsible to do major surgery to someone that lives to far away and no guaratee that I could get back. That he was trying to tell me that after doing his own MRI and doing the reading of MRI that there were even more issues that he as a Neurosurgeon could do, but I don't know what it is yet, because it was just this past Tuesday and I might get some anwers when they send me the disk and what he found. It took a year and a half to find someone to tell me the truth about my lumbar and was going to finallly do what all these other doctors decided that because I also have a head injury that I was to stupid to know any better, so they didn't have to take a beating on low paying insurance Medicare.

2. My other problem 2nd of many from accident is this nobody has even would respond to my question of why I have so much pain in my neck, both shoulders, top to bottom of and all the way across. It is so painful that if I didn't have such a will to live would have blown my brains out. This pain never stops! I was pinned when I got T-BONED at about 70mph with only my head and shoulders were free to violently shake back and forth to the point it knocked me out. I also have my head that hurts every day but its not 24/7 like my neck and shoulders. I WAS WONDERING IF ITS A BLOOD FLOW ISSUE IN MY MAIN ARTERIES IN MY NECK OR IS IT COMING FROM MY SPINE, THAT IS DAMAGED CERVICAL, THORACIC AND LUMBAR. THIS IS SPINE, MUSCLE, TENDONS AND WHATEVER ELSE IS DAMAGED THAT BAD, BUT AFTER OVER A YEAR I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY MUSCLES WOULD STILL BE THAT DAMAGED? I raced motorcycles for 10 years when I was young and know torn muscles but I never had real pain from it. COULD YOU DO THAT MUCH DAMAGE TO MUSCLES I DON'T KNOW. I have always had rock hard muscles in my back but not working hard for over 10 years and being 56 years old and taking Valuim for 10 months my muscles in my whole back has only losened up just a little. The best the muscle drugs have done was after the accident my muscles in my neck got so tight that I was being strangled I swear no lie. IF I COULD GET SOME IDEA OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS IT WOULD HELP ALOT. I am to weak and in pain with legs giving out and bowel and bladder that is about 75% gone. The worse part of this whole thing is that I was sitting at a green light getting ready to turn left when this lady pulls in the lane going the opposite way because of backed up traffic that she did not want to stop at and ruined my life.
This was in a 35mph zone and nobody saw her until she was in front of backed up cars, the only person that saw she was in the opposite lane was one of the witnesses that was on the other side of the green light. The other witness was sitting at the red light she ran and he said that all he saw was a blur and plowed into my car.
Sorry for the rambling and the senseless writing but I have a severe head injury also that hasn't been addressed yet, I try to do the best I can so don't be upset if it makes no sense. Some days I am a lunatic and some days I am nice but all days I make no sense. Thank you for anything you could tell me.

Dear Caissex, welcome to medhelp forum. I understand your predicament and really empathize with you for going through all this. You have multiple disc issues with prolapsed at all lumbar and first sacral levels and central canal stenosis.
You have weakness in lower limbs and bowel and bladder disturbances suggestive of extreme nerve compression at cauda equine. This injury is usually sustained from disc herniation, traumatic injury or spinal stenosis. Lumbar decompression is vital to make more space for compressed nerves within next 48 hours of the injury to prevent permanent damage.
Your neck either sustained a whiplash injury during the motor vehicle accident or prolapsed of cervical intervertebral discs causing the pain in neck and shoulders. Usually a cervical collar is prescribed.
I feel you must meet the neurosurgeon and seek his opinion as to what can be done to relieve your symptoms. He must otherwise refer you to the rehabilitative team in the hospital who can assist you cope with your physical challenges better. I would also suggest you take the help of a psychiatrist to help you deal with this stressful health predicament. Join a peer group to know what help others are getting in similar scenario.
I really hope things get better.
Wish you all the best.
