SHUNT ISSUE

i had a shunt placed twice in the past 6 months and I have a pain in my lower base of the skull.  I have to admit of pressing the shunt valve alot.  Is this leaning towards overdraining the shunt? When I press in, it refills slowly. Does it mean its blocked? HELP

Hi.I dont know but would like to! I have a shunt as well ( Dec 08) and there is always something going on with it.I dont press mine,( afraid to!) I get the feeling that it is stuck or blocked sometimes.Cant get an answer from the drsThey have done a cat scan and it seems to be working but I still have very high pressure. Next step for me is a second shunt.I hope some one will answer both our questions.cath278.
