hi, thanks for talking with me! Well, on Sept. 19th i had 2 disc removed from the lumbar region of my spine, then on Oct 31st i had a extremely large cervical disc removed with fushion. I hadn't had anymore pain in my lower back though scince 2 wks after my lower back surgery, that is until about 2-3 wks ago. as i said last week i was diagnosed with severe si joint pain, dysfunction. i have a great amount of pain in my lower back again, my hips,my butt, down both legs at times-all the way to my feet.but mainly(& the most severe)in my left side of my hip, all the way down my left leg-severe sciatic pain! my surgeon ordered another lumbar mri,but i haven't recived it yet. the thing is I'm not sure if this is SI alone because when i had my back surgery the mri also showed 2 other disc herniations there, they just took care of the worst 2! Now my insurance doesn't want to pay for me another mri for maybe 2 more months, scince all this stuff has been so recent...JERKS!!! I go back for another SI block next week. I'm in so much pain everyday!!!  well, that's pretty much thae basics,         thanks!!

Hi Brandy,
Sacroiliac joint pain is discomfort in the lower back in the area where the base of the spine meets the pelvis. This pain is simply a symptom that may come from a number of conditions or diseases.
The sacroiliac joint has many nerve endings, which send pain signals to the brain. Pain in this region may be caused by many factors:
Twisting, bending, or moving in a way that triggers sacroiliac joint pain, Infection of the joint,
Osteoarthritis of the joint (more common in older adults), Trauma, such as auto accidents, Stress fractures in athletes, Inflammation of the joint, such as with ankylosing spondylitis.
Can you tell me little more detail about this pain?
What pathology has doctor said is causing this?
Bye.
