SPEECH

I am a 70 yr old male and have been diagnosed with PD for 4 1/2 yrs.  In the last year my speech has plummeted quite rapidly as there is weakness of the lips, jaw and tongue and  excessive saliva build up.  My jaw seems to favor the left side and the tongue protrudes against the lips making it difficult to transfer the saliva to the throat and speaking. Has anyone experienced such a condition, and if so what was the diagnosis/treatment?

Thanks.

Hi LouH,
How are you feeling now?
Either this could be Dystonia or drug induced secondary Parkinsonism.
You need to consult your neurologist at earliest.
Hope this helps.
Bye.

Thanks for the reply.  And yes, it could be that or God knows what?  This condition has baffled PD (Movement Disorder) Neurologists for the longest.  Just had an EEG and awaiting the results.  Thanks again...
