THE PALMS OF MY HANDS STAY SWOLLEN AND PAINFUL TO SOME DEGREE ALL OF THE TIME. MY FINGERS ARE NOT SWOLLEN BUT IT IS DIFFICULT TO OPEN MY PALMS, BOTH WRISTS ARE STIFF AND PAINFUL. THE PAIN IS IN THE CENTER OF MY PALM.
I HAVE BEEN TESTED RECENTLY FOR LUPUS AND RELATED ILLNESSES AND HAVE NONE OF THEM. I DO HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND POLYCETHEMIA.
CORTOZONE SHOTS WILL RELEAVE THE CONDITION, BUT IT RETURNS AS SOON AS THE SHOT WEARS OFF.
A DERMITOLOGIST SAID IT WAS CAUSED FROM TAKING VASOTEC BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION. I HAVE REDUCED MY DOSE TO 10MG ONCE PER DAY (UNDER A DOCTORS CARE).
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION? I WOULD LIKE TO GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM.
Thanks for the question. In general neurologic diseases do not cause the types of symptoms that you discuss. It sounds more like a rheumatological problem. Patients that have carpal tunnel syndrome will sometimes feel as if their hands are swollen but they are usually not. I think your best bet is to see a rheumatologist and follow their recommendations. Regular use of anti-inflamm may be warrented. You may wish to post this question on the general medical forum. Good luck
