Scalp numbness

by Alexis88, Feb 05, 2009 02:24PM
About 2 weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment with a hairdresser to install sew in extensions in my hair.
However, once the stylist was finished sewing in the extensions, I was left with a painrful, throbbing sensation in my head. My scalp was so tight and hurt so badly that I ended up taking out the extensions not long afterwards and noticed several scabs along my scalp. My major concern is has to do with a part of the scalp that is located on the left side of my head just below the crown. This particular area seems to be numb and has loss of sensation. What is this and is this something to be alarmed about? I have not spoken to a Doctor about this yet because I thought the feeling would go away on its own but this has been going on for 2 weeks now and I'm a bit worried. Any advice on what this might be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
