Scalp soreness

My whole scalp is sore to the touch. It feels like I have just taken a ponytail out except it it all over my scalp instead of in a particular place. What could this be? Please help.

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include superficial scalp infections, inflammations, folliculitis, trauma, growths/ masses, vascular issues, cranial neuralgias etc. If the feeling does not subside in a day or two, you may consider an evaluation by a primary care physician and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
