Scar tissue formation

Scar tissue formation

I am a keloid former. I have never had any abdominal surgery. I am scheduled for a lap lumbar fusion next week of L5-S1. Should I be worried about scar tissue forming? I am having the BAK inserted.
Dear Betsy:
If you are a keloid former, then you are ceratinly at risk to develop
more scar tissue than the average person. Please remember that predicting
how much scar tissue you will form is extremely difficult to predict. This
means that you may develop problems relating to this or you may do just fine.
Typically with this approach you won't have problems with spinal canal stenosis
but there may be scar formation in the abdomen but this is highly unusual.
I hope this helps, even though I can not predict for sure.
Good Luck!
