Scared to death about STROKE - advice from anyone ...

by ajr44, Apr 24, 2007 12:00AM
Very scared and upset ( sometimes crying ). Worried about my wife and daughter. I am a 44 year old male.

First of all, I had brain MRI ; EEG ; lyme blood test ; thyroid ; and all others - everything was clean.

For the past 9 months I have been extremely light-headed around the clock, every day all the time. Very light-headed almost like a drean state. This does not go away. For the past few weeks my lower left lip becomes numb, left side of tounge becomes numb, left arm and left leg becomes numb as though they are not part of my body. Seems to get worse when I walk. Very weak all the time. Having stroke like symptoms at night that wake me up, ( numbness on left side ).

Are these TIA's ? Does this sound like I am heading for a stroke ?  What about my clean MRI and EEG ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ?
God bless you all ...

It amazed me that we have all gone to so many physicians and have probably scoured the net in search of answers, but have found none. I get the numbness,lightheadedness,etc... and am only 24.

I was certain I had cancer, a huge blood clot, mini strokes, was heading for a huge stroke(still worried about that one),a heart attack..I mean it's very scary.

I wish I had an answer for everyone, but I keep seeing the  same symptoms and nobody knows what the hell it is about.

The best thing you can do is remain calm.

Thanks ...
How long have you had LIGHT-HEADEDNESS ?
Do you ever feel twinges deep inside your head ?
Is it constant ?
Do you have mouth and limb numbness during light-headedness ?
Thanks again and please advise ...

I had extreme weakness and bad anxiety w it last summer and went finally to a dr. who told me it was from losing alot of weight too fast. Saw aneuro fianlly for stroke like symptoms 40 female not overweight . and they found spots on my brain. I have still the weakness in rt arm and tingling and jaw weakness and i don;t know what it is yet, waiting to see an MS specialist w a huge waiting list. For now i wonder and worry and i really don;t want the lumbar test as its so invasive. I hope you will be okay , stay in close touch w thew neuro i was never sick like this healthy and full of energy and now i don;t work for now..very upsetting , hang in there K
