Sciatic Pain

I have had three discectomies (know it is not spelled right) and a BAK fusion at L5-S1. I also have bulging at L4-L5 and L3-L4. My pain managment doctor cannot figure out why I cannot sit without extreme pain and why when I sneeze or cough that I am thrown into an extreme bout of pain. Someone recently siad I have a coccyx problem and have to have it removed. I do not like taking pain meds because I can never seem to catch up to it. It is embarassing to tell people that I cannot sit to have dinner. If I do go out I do not eat and feel as though I am being rude. I need to know how I can still experience the leg pain even though the disc at L5-S1 has been replaced with the cages and if it could be caused by the other bulging dics?

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

I doubt that still there may be some nerve is compressing due to scar or injured during that disc surgery. Sometimes these symptoms may occur due to other nerve compression. I would suggest consulting another neurologist who would like clinically examine you and/or order few investigations like MRI to reach at probable diagnosis here. Hope this helps.
