Scoliosis Surgery

by Bekkouiro, Feb 01, 2008 04:38PM
I had scoliosis surgery 5 years ago from Dr. Asher at KU Medical center and every day since I have had lower back pain. It gets so bad that at times I am brought to tears. I know it's bad to sit and mope, but I am only 20 years old and have more back pain than my grandparents.

Most of the pain is located on my left side and that is the side my lower back was curving to. I was wondering if maybe it could be that my curve has returned and is placing some sort of pressure on that part of my spine. at 5 years after surgery is it even possible to have this awful thing removed? I had NO pain before the surgery and I am just a little bitter about the results. Dr. Asher has even admitted that I am the only patient he has had (and he invented the surgery) that has had constant continued lower back pain right after surgery. I have been hurting for 5 years and the doctors haven't helped me at all with this.
