I am a 27 year old female, who over 2 years ago started having sensations of numbness on one side of my foot and side of my face, both on the same side of my body.  At first I just blew it off as the sensations would only last a few hours and then would dissapear for a few days at a time before returning.  Now, it is hard to ignore as it has become constant numbness on more than half of one foot and occassionally around one side of my mouth (same side of the body).

I have also lost 20 lbs in the last 3 months without any changes in diet or activity level.  I have a doctors appointment in 2 weeks, but I am wondering what this could be.  I should note that I have not sustained any types of injuries or gone through any major illnesses.

Hi, it is hard to say what it is until proper work up has been done. Best is to consult neurologist, MRI will be diagnostic. It could be neuropathy, brain lesion, TIA etc. Do you have family history of hypertension, dyslipidemia etc?

Weight loss is not good sign, usually it is associated with diseases like tuberculosis, chronic inflammatory diseases etc.

Please get the investigations done and always be hopeful!
