Sensory Processing Disorder

by Angel1402, Jul 14, 2008 09:02AM
I not sure if SPD is a neurological problem, but here's my problem:  I have a 18 year old son with SPD. He was treated at the ages of about 7 to 9 years old. The huge problem at the moment is his oral defensiveness. He has got a broken tooth at the moment that needs fixing but the dentist cannot work on the tooth without my son gagging.  This is such an embarresment to him.  I now have to pay about R10 000 ($1400) to get the tooth fixed under anaesthetic as my medical aid refusses to pay it.  I would just like to know if this can be treated and what help should he get.  Is'nt he to old?  What can I do to help?  Thanks.  Regards  Angelique (South Africa).
