Hello out there,
I developed a very painful Neuroma during/after ACL surgery 2 years ago. My surgeon thought it was coming from the skrew, so I got the skrew removed 1.5 yrs later. My skin was so precarious after a cortisteriod injection that I have skin thinning and total fat/collagen atrophy in larger than a 2x2inch area on the anterior medial aspect of my tibia. My plastic surgeon does not recommend an incision in this area due to the severe precariousness of my skin.
Unfortunately, this is the exact same location of my neuroma that is in the tibial channel where the skrew was removed and the base of the ACL graft. This neuroma is very painful and my life is pretty much on hold and very depressing due to the pain.
What would be the pros and cons of Neuroma Extraction Surgery? Besides surgery, is there anything else you would recommend? Should I see an Neurologist or an Orthopedic Surgeon regarding extraction?
I greatly appreciate any expert advice or shared experience from another patient regarding this matter!
Thank You!
