Severe Polyneuorapthy

My husband was diagnosed with large B cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma in February of this year.  Last month, we received a call saying he was in remission but three days later, he awoke with double vision.  He was flown back down to the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver and all tests including cat scans, MRI, bloodwork, lumbar punctures, etc come back showing no signs of lymphoma or cancer cells.  However, the last two lumbar punctures showed an increase in protein; the second showing a higher rate than the first.  He has almost 100% loss of his legs and right arm.  A few days ago, his right hand showed signs of swelling and is quite puffy.  They did test him for CDIP but that disease was ruled out.  They are now trying to proceed with a nerve biopsy and are leaning toward vasculitis.  However, all research we have done on vasculitis doesn't match his symptoms nearly as well as CDIP.  In the interim, he is on heavy doses of medication and we are very afraid that we will lose him before they can diagnose him.  They started him again on prednizone yesterday through IV.  He is having difficulty swallowing now and is taking very little by mouth.  We are at a loss to know what is happening.  If it is the cancer, we would like proof of it and so far nothing indicates any lymphoma anywhere in his body.  A positive TB culture came back from some tissue on his lung from when he had pneumonia in May so he is on a TB regime of medication as well.  We truly need some insight and help with this as the doctors both neurologists and oncologists in Vancouver seem to be having a difficult time diagnosing exactly what is causing him all of this pain and neuropathy.
