Severe headaches with pain starting on left side of brain near back.

by shawn1975, Jul 09, 2007 12:00AM
I have suffered with mirgrane headaches since I was 10 years old and I am now 31. Three years ago, I couldn't take it anymore and I spoke with a Headache Specialist. She did a treatment called DHE that worked for about three years. I had this treatment done again last Septemeber, but it didn't work at all. I have been having really horrible headaches, with yesterday being the worst. I woke up with the headache, but this time unable to lift my head from my pillow. Once I got up, I noticed that my face was a little swallon and that my eyelids looked droppy. I laid my down for about 4 hours and the headache lighted up a little. I still have the headache today, just not as bad as yesterday. The headaches start on the ledt side and the stem of the brain and move up over my left eye. I have tried some many medicines and treatment I don't know where to go from here. Can you please tell me are these mirgane headaches or could some else be wrong. I have also had spinal taps done, but nothing seemd to releive the pain.

To: any health care professional?
Is it normal to get headaches in your actual eyes. . . and a REALLY sore and aching pain behind your ears the size of "the top of a hot/cold disposable cup"?
