Two weeks ago I began having excruciating muscle spasms and cramping in my legs at night.....many per night. Not the once a month muscle cramp that easily stretches out. Some will last 10 mnutes or longer and almost seem like stretching aggrevates them. My thigh in my left leg will begin to cramp while the calf in my righ leg is cramping. Then I began having over all body muscle twitching. My muscles - again my entire body - also feel like they are burning or like I'm receving mild electric shocks. I get cramping in the muscles in my hands, back, even under my arms in additiont to in my legs. This has been an every day and every night thing. It does not let up. Labs (thyroid, calcium, vitamin d, glucose) have checked OK , except my CK level is 155. My MD referred me to a neurologist and prescribed Soma to give me relief at night so I can get some sleep. Soma has given me relief but I know it's a short term fix. I can't find anything on line with symptoms like I'm having. What type of testing do you think will be performed? I'm extremely worried about what could be going on.
I'm a 54 yr old female that normally leads a very productive life.
