Severe neck pain and headache

Hi,

  I am a 26 yr old female, for the past month I have had severe neck pain, and chronic headaches.  I thought it was my pillow and how i was sleeping and bought a new pillow, and changed my posture etc.  Recently it has been getting progressivly worse.  I can barely move my head my neck hurts so much, and my headache gets so bad it causes me to vommitt.  I have gotten thunderclap headaches before (4 total) and I feel i am on the verge of one of those again.  My brain feels like it is exploding out of my skull and that spot rightwhere the skull meets the neck is where the majority of my pain is.  I have been getting a little double vision as well.  I have tried over the counter headache pain releivers, then went to the dentist thinking i had an absessed tooth or something causing it, and he gave me vicodin which helps some, but the pain is still there.  Any idea what this is, or if i should go to a regular doctor for this?

Hi,
The symptoms could be due to Common Migraine, Basilar migraine, Brain tumour or cancer, or nerve compression in the neck . Please go for MRI of the brain and spine and consult a  neurologist for diagnosis and management of the symptoms. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
