Sharp head pain with dizziness

For a while now I have been getting very dizzy when I go from a sitting to standing position and also when I get the dizzy feeling I also get a  very sharp pain that last a few seconds. The pain is so intense that I often have to hold on to something and wait for it all to pass. When this all started it would only happen every now and then, But now it's almost every time I stand up. I've asked a couple of Doctor's about this and they don't seem to know why I'm having them. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx

Hi there. This is most likely orthostatic hypotension, the most common symptom of orthostatic hypotension is feeling lightheaded or dizzy when you stand up after sitting or lying down. this usually happens shortly after standing up and lasts a few seconds or minutes. signs and symptoms are feeling lightheaded or dizzy after standing up, blurry vision, weakness, fainting, confusion, nausea and headache.  The various causes are dehydration, heart problems like bradycardia, heartvalve problems, heart attack and failure, diabetes, etc . Consult your cardiologist for an evaluation and relevant investigations to pin down the cause of these symptoms and their management. Take care.
