Your symptom would primarily suggest a nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity impingement/compression, probably at the upper cervical level, which could be causing the sharp pain. It might be suggestive of a degenerative disc disease or vertebral malalignment.
If your symptoms persist, you should at least have it evaluated by a physician.
How often do you feel this pain? Does any activity trigger this symptom? Have you recently experienced any head or neck injury?
