Shingles rash for 16 weeks

Shingles rash for 16 weeks

The rash started Feb 21st of 2009 on my abdomen. A month later it spread in the "Belt like fashion" to my back. That's when my MD diagnosed me (without tests) as it being shingles. To this day I still have the rash. It's posted in my pictures. Only about a month ago did I start feeling actual pain. My rash has never bubbled up into angry puss filled blisters. Do they need to come up into those blisters before going away and what is taking it so long?
Everything I read it says this only lasts like 4 weeks and this has been lasting 16. I am only 24 and its bathing suit weather!! I'm very frustrated. I am booked to see a dermatologist tomorrow and he sounds like a monster from his ratings! What will he do for me cuz my MD gave me flamclivor and it did nothing.
