Shocks before sleeping

Hi all,

For a pretty long while I have the following happening. When I am lying in bed, before sleeping I have these shocks. It wakes me up directly (according to my girlfriend also in my sleep) and I am pretty concerned about this. Because I live in another country going to the doctor and expressing myself is not really working out.

The shocks are mostly in my right arm, but that is only noticeable when I am awake (or half sleeping). I really wonder what is going on. During the day I am very active person. Going to the gym 3 till 4 times a week and more.

Are they like electric shocks localized to your arm, like zap..zap..zapzap...etc?  I get the same thing, sudden, intense, quick electric shock-like pains, mostly in my left thigh, but it happens all over.  I have also woken up at night from the pains.  I went to a neuro recently, so I am waiting to get an MRI, but I am thinking mine is MS.

If you don't have any other MS symptoms, what about a B12 deficiency?  I think a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel syndrome can also cause shocks, especially if it only happens in your arm.
