Should I see a Neurologist or have tested repeated?

How many visits would it take to the Cleveland Clinic to have an evaluation of my pain problems?

To: Visiting Cleveland Clinic?
Can anyone tell me how many trips that I would need to make to the Cleveland Clinic to have an evaluation of my pain problems?  Is it like doctors in our hometowns where you see the doctor, then schedule tests during the next couple weeks and then come back again which could involve many vistits?  Or is it more like Mayo where everything is done over a few consecutive days?

Jan,

I have nerve problems like you do following my hysto. I highly suggest you find a pain management doctor who deals with pelvic nerve damage in your area. I went to Cleveland clinic over a year ago and had all their testing done over several weeks it got me no information. I'm in Florida and went to the south Florida office which is over 6 hour drive for me.
I've had nerve blocks, which helped 2 of the nerves but made the other 4 worse, I've done the neurotin and elavil (did nothing for the pain)...I like you was getting really depressed and then I found a great pain doc who has helped me out. I take muscle relaxers, anti depressants, pain meds along with some natural hormones and I wear a Protonics leg device that helps my pain in the pelvis! If you need pain meds then try them....most didn't work for me but I'm allergic to almost everyone of them. Don't let a doctor tell you no, your in pain and want relief..try them and see if they help you.
My pain doc also helped me apply for SS since I can't do anything because I have no feeling from my waist down and have tons of pain and after a 2 year battle I just won my case.

I hope this give you some energy to keep fighting and don't give up. It's your pain and you want to get some relief!
You can email me if you have any more questions
