Hi,

Genetics does play a role in epilepsy. Certain types of epilepsy are known to run in families but it is not a hard fast rule that if parents have epilepsy the child is bound to suffer from epilepsy.
Your symptoms are very suggestive of panic attacks. I would suggest you to do some deep breathing exercises every day, you may also need medications like beta blockers to control the panic attacks.

Hope this helps!
