Shoulder pain

I have been having shoulder pain for quite some time now.  Basically I feel discomfort in my shoulder, but never anything excrutiation.  Just uncomfortable, sometimes extremely so.  I would best describe the pain/discomfort as feeling like someone is pulling on my left arm.  I also feel some tingling in my left thumb and index finger which leads me to believe it is a neurological thing, probably related to the pinched nerve between my shoulder blades I get.  I told my primary care doctor about the shoulder pain, and he referred me to an orthopedist, even after I stressed the tingling in my fingers.  The orthopedic surgeon took x-rays, which looked normal to him, so he prescribed physical therapy.  I met with the physical therapist once and he gave me some excercises to do at home.  Admittedly I have not been back to the physical therapist because I really suspect that it is related to my pinched nerve, and that PT would not be effective.
Can anyone give any advice?

Hi,
The symptoms do sound like those of a pinched nerve. It could be a nerve compression in the cervical or upper part of the spine. Please go for MRI of the spine, shoulder joint and  the arm and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
