Shoulders Paralyzed

Shoulders Paralyzed

Really not a question. I have read everyones comments on pain after fusions. I had my first fusion in 1998 on the lower neck vertabra and with no problems for 10 years. then I started getting serious headaches and the dr said it was my other vertabra that were degenrated so I had surery March 4th of 2009 . I woke up and could not move my shoulders. He went back in on April 1,2009 and took off the plate and the redone the surgery a second time. Still to this day no shoulder movement. I have had 4 MRI, 3d XRAY, Nerve Condution testing,Cat Scan, and a Mylogram(ouch) that one really sucked.
Now I am also getting ready to see a shoulder specialist . See we are all all having the same pains and  symptoms. are we test subjects are is their a real fix. I recieved a second opion from a family friend who is a neuro surgon and he said and agreed I should go on disablity. BS . I would go bankrupt. I had no shoulders problems when i went in like everyone else but now they dont work . go figure. So would nt you think he is responsible. I guess they have to much pride to admit fault. Bitter no, I just want my quality of lift back. What are your thoughts

It is quite sad that the surgeon has not explained the pros and cons before going for the surgery. The spinal nerves supply your upper and lower limbs and any problem with the nerve damage the portion is effected. In most of the cases it just might be a nerve compression or some tendon pressing onto it after the surgery. You should take a second opinion what the 1st surgeon has done and if it is not preventable then you cannot do much, but i still persisit my 1st line that the pros and cons should be explained to the patient before any surgery,  Take care!
