Shunt Overdrainage/Subdural Hematoma

Hello.  My father had a Codman Hakim Programmable VP shunt implanted in December for Adult Hydrocephalus. He began to experience vision problems and by the end of January the shunt had to be removed due to subdural hematoma caused by overdrainage of fluid. Fortunately, the blood clot is dissipating on its own and most likely will not require surgical removal. In the meantime his Hydrocephalus symptoms (gait disturbance, balance problems, etc.) have returned. I was wondering what are his future options for treatment of Hydrocephalus after the blood clot has completely dissipated?
Thank you so much.

Another shunt can be placed, and the pressure setting can be adjusted lower to drain less fluid. If the pressure is set lower hopefully the sub-dural complication can be avoided. Good luck

Doctors dont know it all. i been suffering for almost four years from feeling deathly ill and having bad headaches and my eyes hurt badly. eyedocotor said nothings wrong with my eyes that i need a neurosurgeon.. my back and neck hurts and my feet hurt. at night i cant get up and walk to the bathroom cause my feet and toes are stuck and i have to get them to pop before i am able to walk. my jaw also gets stuck and it hurts. my eyes feel like they are being forced downward and my dodc said i had low blood pressure. i was born with hyrdocephalus and i have 2 shunts that was placed in at abot 2 years old and was last replaced 15 years ago. i feel so sick i want to give up
