Shunt and MRI
I have a question relating to shunts and MRIs. I have a VP shunt and require an MRI because I am having trigeminal neuralgia in my face and neck problems which are leading to numbness in my fingers. CT scans show nothing so my neurologist ordered an MRI. Is it safe for someone with a VP shunt to have one? Im just nervous about it flying out of my head an all. Thank you for any input.

Hi do u have ICP? There are a few in the chiari forum that have had a shunt for either a syrinx or ICP.....

I have an article in my journal about shunts, feel free to take a look.

    Good luck
