Some Relief

Hello,

A few weeks ago I was compelled to do some research to help my 78 year old father out with an issue he had,  and I found the below post from 2003 which was almost an exact match to what he was experiencing:

"Worsening unexplained symptoms

Tags: Neurology, General Neurology, pain
My symptoms started five years ago, tingling in lower legs and occassionally arms/hands and feeling tired. Initial neurological tests were normal. I now have constant tingling and painful burning in my lower legs and feet, tightness in my lower legs and my feet are tender and sore to stand on. The outside toes on my right foot spread out, particularly my small toe."

My Dad had every kind of diagnostic test for blood, neuro, RA, MS, everything.  In the end, all the doctors more or less gave up.  I read on Medhelp how some people were getting some relief with a special B12 supplement so I got some (Enzymatic Therapy B12 Infusion).  I guess the major difference with this stuff is that it comes in methylcobalamin form.  Anyway, my Dad did two things: first he started taking the 1mg B12 once a day, and second, based on a doctor's advice, he increased his 0.5 mg Lorazepam (for anxiety) from once a day (before bed) to 3 times a day.  After only a couple days, he's reporting 95-99% improvement.   This condition had been bothering him for 6-8 months and was getting worse, and in just a couple days he got a lot of relief.

Just thought I'd put this out here since it seems to have helped my Dad and it may help someone else.  Without this forum, he would not have found help.  Thanks.

Thanks, that's why I had to pass this on.  The 0.5 mg Lorazepam can only be prescribed by a doctor, and the risk associated with a daily B12 vitamin is tiny.

Hi Hoover7,
Its great to share one's experience and certainly someone may benefit if happen to have more or less same symptoms, also at times it may lead to unwarrented side effects or complication if medication is self motivated or by hear say and not prescribed by a doctor.
Bye.
