Something is not right

I have several symptoms that are bothering me but have not been to a doctor so I don't know what is wrong except that something is wrong. Any advice on what is wrong is appreciated.

The biggest symptom is a perpetual pressure in my head that never goes away and has been there for well over a year, It is not a headache in that it doesn't really hurt but is instead noticeable and very uncomfortable. It leaves me feeling lightheaded and seems to varie in intensity from a constant sensation as described to where it bothers me so much that it leaves me a second or two incapacitated and unable to concentrate on anything. I have to shake it off.

Also I suffer from extreme somnolence and fatigue, not mental which I have in excess, but physically. It is the worst after I wake up, whether it's after 8 hours or a 2 hour nap. I wake up feeling like I've been hit by a train and sometimes I cannot drag myself out of bed I am so tired. My body suffers from muscle pains all over seemingly.

I plan on going to a doctor in the near future but until then am trying to figure it out.

I think you should be going to a physician after a year of symptoms and not being able to "figure it out" on your own.

You cannot possibly give yourself testing, labs, treatment, etc.

PLEASE SEE A PHYSICIAN.

Hi, Thank you very much for your question; although it is quite difficult for me to give you a precise diagnosis here without being able to examine you, though I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. You need a proper assessment and investigation here since there can be many causes for memory loss & concentration impairment. Most common causes of short term memory and concentration impairment are excessive stress, psychological reason, recent head injury, certain medications, hormonal imbalance and Alzheimer’s disease (if you are in old age). I would recommend you to see a neurologist who can evaluate the details of your case and could better determine the insight of your situation. In the meantime, try to do some meditation exercises (eg. breathing exercises), have a balanced diet and avoid stress. Hope this helps. Take Care & Regards.

I've spent over a year not caring about it and only in the last couple weeks considered going to a doctor and the last couple days going on forums seeing if anyone could deduce a prognosis based on my details. I realize it cannot be totally accurate unless I get tested but was curious anyway. Thanks for writing though I appreciate it.

There is a condition called Arnold Chiari Malformation that is a congenital condition where the cerebellar tonsil protrudes through the opening (foramen magnum) at the base of the skull blocking the cerebral spinal fluid from flowing properly.  Throbbing pain at the back of the head caused by valsalva maneuver (bearing down when you have a bowel movement, sneezing, coughing, lifting, etc.) is common with Chiari. I get a pressure, whooshing feeling and sometimes just a dull ache.  Google it and if it seems like you have these symptoms, have your doc order an MRI.
